3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe is a type of steel pipe that uses a three-layer polyethylene (3PE) coating for external corrosion protection. The base materials for 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe mainly include seamless steel pipe, spiral steel pipe, and straight seam steel pipe. Due to its excellent anti-corrosion performance, long service life, and wide applicability, this type of anti-corrosion steel pipe is widely used in many regions.


What is the anti-corrosion structure and principle of the 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe? Specifically:

1. The bottom layer of the 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe: Epoxy powder (FBE) coating, with a thickness greater than 100 micrometers. This layer is in direct contact with the surface of the steel pipe, providing initial protection through its good adhesion and anti-corrosion performance.

2. The middle layer of the 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe: Adhesive (AD) layer, with a thickness between 170 and 250 micrometers. The main function of this layer is to enhance the adhesion between the epoxy powder coating and the high-density polyethylene anti-corrosion coating, ensuring a tight bond between the two.

3. Surface Layer of 3PE Anti-corrosion Steel Pipe: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) anti-corrosion coating. This is the outer layer of the anti-corrosion layer, possessing excellent corrosion resistance, durability, and impact resistance.


3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe uses polyethylene material, which has good corrosion resistance and can resist the erosion of various corrosive media, extending the service life of the 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe. Polyethylene material has a high molecular weight and good stability; under normal operating temperature and pressure, the service life of 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe can be confirmed to exceed 50 years. Polyethylene material has excellent impact resistance and seismic resistance, enabling 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe to maintain stable performance even under harsh environmental conditions. No heavy metal stabilizers are added during the processing of polyethylene material, making it clean, harmless, and recyclable, thus environmentally friendly. The connection methods for 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe are mainly hot-melt or electrofusion connections, with the interface material being the same as that of the steel pipe.


The production process of 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipes mainly includes steel uncoiling, impurity removal, steel pipe forming, surface treatment, steel pipe heating, epoxy powder coating, adhesive and polyethylene extrusion coating, water cooling, pipe cutting, and beveling. These processes ensure that the quality and performance of the 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe meet the required standards.


3PE anti-corrosion steel pipes are widely used in many areas due to their excellent performance:
