First, the size and specifications of 2Cr13 seamless steel pipes

Outer diameter and wall thickness: The outer diameter of 2Cr13 seamless steel pipes is 103mm and the wall thickness is 16.5mm. Steel pipes of this size can withstand certain pressures and flows according to specific needs in different application scenarios.


Second, the material characteristics of 2Cr13 seamless steel pipes

- Chemical composition: 2Cr13 is mainly composed of carbon, chromium, silicon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus, and other elements, of which the carbon content is between 0.16%-0.25%, the chromium content is between 12.00%-14.00%, the silicon and manganese contents are not more than 1.00%, and the sulfur and phosphorus contents are not more than 0.030% and 0.035% respectively.

- Corrosion resistance: The presence of chromium enables a dense chromium oxide film to form on the surface of the steel pipe, thus having good corrosion resistance and can remain stable in general atmospheric environments, fresh water, and some weak acid and alkali media.

- Mechanical properties: 2Cr13 seamless steel pipe has high strength and hardness. After quenching and tempering, the tensile strength is ≥635MPa, the conditional yield strength is ≥440MPa, the elongation is ≥20%, the cross-sectional shrinkage is ≥50%, and the impact energy Aku2 is ≥63J. It is suitable for manufacturing mechanical parts or structural components that need to withstand high pressure and load.

- Processing performance: 2Cr13 seamless steel pipe has good processing performance and is easy to perform processing operations such as cutting, welding, and bending. However, attention should be paid to preheating and controlling welding process parameters during welding to prevent defects such as cracks.


Third, the manufacturing process of 2Cr13 seamless steel pipe

- Preparation of tube blanks: High-quality 2Cr13 stainless steel plates are selected as raw materials, and they are prepared into tube blanks after cutting, grinding, and other treatments.

- Perforation: The tube blanks are perforated into tubular shapes by a perforator.

- Rolling: The perforated tube blanks are rolled to gradually thin the tube wall to form seamless steel pipes. During the rolling process, parameters such as rolling temperature, rolling speed, and rolling force need to be strictly controlled to ensure the quality and performance of the steel pipe.

- Heat treatment: Generally, heat treatment processes such as annealing, quenching, and tempering are required to improve the structure and performance of the steel pipe and improve its strength, hardness, toughness, and other indicators. For example, the annealing temperature is 800-900℃ slow cooling or about 750℃ fast cooling, the quenching temperature is 920-980℃ oil cooling, and the tempering temperature is 600-750℃ fast cooling.

- Finishing: including straightening, pickling, polishing, and other processes to make the steel pipe reach the required dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and appearance requirements.


Fourth, the application field of 2Cr13 seamless steel pipe

- Petrochemical industry: It can be used for pipelines for conveying corrosive media and high-temperature and high-pressure fluids, as well as for manufacturing heat exchangers, reactors, separators, and other components in petrochemical equipment. Its corrosion resistance and high strength can ensure the long-term stable operation of the equipment.

- Pharmaceutical and food industry: Due to its good corrosion resistance and hygienic properties, it is suitable for pipeline systems for conveying sanitary fluids such as drinking water, medicines, food, etc., to ensure the safety and hygiene of products.

- Machinery manufacturing industry: It is often used to manufacture mechanical parts, such as tools, molds, bearings, valves, pumps, etc. Its high hardness and good wear resistance can improve the service life and reliability of parts.

- Building decoration industry: It can be used to make building structural parts, indoor and outdoor handrails, railings, stairs, etc. Its beautiful appearance and anti-oxidation performance can meet the needs of modern architectural design.


Fifth, inspection standards and methods of 2Cr13 seamless steel pipes

- Dimensional accuracy inspection: Use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to measure the outer diameter, wall thickness, length, and other dimensions of the steel pipe to ensure that its dimensional deviation is within the allowable range.

- Appearance quality inspection: Visually inspect the surface of the steel pipe to see if there are defects such as cracks, folds, scars, scratches, etc. Steel pipes with surface quality problems should be treated or scrapped accordingly.

- Chemical composition analysis: Use spectral analysis and other methods to detect the chemical composition of the steel pipe to ensure that the content of each element meets the standard requirements of 2Cr13.

- Mechanical properties test: Use tensile tests, hardness tests, impact tests, and other methods to test the tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, hardness, impact energy, and other mechanical performance indicators of the steel pipe to verify whether it meets the relevant standards and usage requirements.

- Non-destructive testing: Use ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, and other non-destructive testing methods to test the inside of the steel pipe to check for internal defects such as pores, slag inclusions, cracks, etc. to ensure the quality and safety of the steel pipe.
