In oil drilling and production operations, oil screen steel pipes are important equipment, often used in early well completion or oil production sand control. Currently, the most commonly used oil screen steel pipe is the wire-wound oil screen steel pipe. This type of oil screen steel pipe is manufactured. The manufacturing method involves winding steel wire of a certain cross-section around a metal liner evenly distributed around the screen rod or with openings, then welding it securely and leaving a certain gap as screen holes. Although this manufacturing method has been used by many manufacturers in China, this type of oil screen has some problems when running into wells, especially when passing through bends in highly deviated or horizontal wells under high pressure. It inevitably collides, is squeezed, and rubs against the well wall or oil casing, easily causing wire tangling, resulting in damage to the oil screen or deformation of the gaps, leading to reduced or ineffective well completion quality and sand control. To address this drawback of wire-wound oil screens, slotted oil screens that integrate steel pipe and slot have emerged. Due to their superior performance and low price, slotted oil steel pipes have received close attention from major oilfields and have been widely adopted since their inception. It is evident that the emergence of slotted steel pipes has provided the material conditions for the development of horizontal wells and sidetracking wells, as well as the extraction of oil from high-sand reservoirs.
