Crude pipeline status in China

The main way of transportation of crude oil are: land transport and sea transport two categories, in general, the cost of water transport is less than land transport, which in the case of conditions may give priority to water transport. Including pipelines, railways, highways and other modes of transport by land, due to on road transport the tank car used by small-scale, comprehensive high costs, usually not as a means of transportation of bulk oil. Therefore, the main mode of transport for the pipeline transportation is crude oil and rail transport.

Since the pipeline has little outside influence climate and low transport costs, less transportation loss, high security and other advantages, especially for long-distance transport of flammable and explosive oil and gas, therefore, it has become widely used in oil and gas transportation by transport the way. As a result of pipeline custody transfer, greatly reducing the evaporation loss, under normal circumstances pipeline loss is less than 0.25%, while rail transport losses is more than 0.5%. The vast majority of domestic crude oil through the pipeline.

At present, China mainly rely on domestic crude oil supply and offshore crude oil imports. With the rapid development of the national economy, oil demand will gradually increase the amount of imported crude oil will also increase. For a long time, the vast majority of China's imports of crude oil transported by sea, there are many uncertainties. For example, as an important crude oil transportation lifeline of Malacca if there are problems, China's crude oil supply will be significant security risks. To ensure the security of supply of crude oil, the need to accelerate the construction of the northeast, northwest and southwest overland oil imports channels to diversify oil supply.
